Last Minute Mother's Day Gift

Mother's Day is this Sunday. Ah! How did that happen so fast?

If you’re like me you haven’t gotten any gift(s) for mom yet, because life is just like soooo busy…

But don’t worry it’s not too late.

When it comes to the perfect gift, let’s be real, what mom really wants is a nice “me time” kind of day. So why not bring the spa to her.

The Glossier Mask Duo is a great set for Mother's Day. The set comes with both the Mega Greens Galaxy Pack and Moisturizing Moon Mask, I use both of them all the time, and mom will too. Paired with some flowers and breakfast in bed, she’s sure to relax and unwind. As an added bonus, you could even go see a movie with the family and let mom be home alone to really enjoy peace and quiet for a few hours. Trust me, these masks are so relaxing and leave your skin feeling so fresh.

Spring In UR Starbucks Cup

Spring is here, and it's over. Well, it is for the Starbucks colorful cups anyway. When these were announced I first thought to myself, "Why does Starbucks always love to piss off its fans?" Then I took a step back and couldn't wait to get my hand on them.

I'm a coffee fan so I know Starbucks is the fast food of coffee, I understand that, but like Mc Donalds, it's always around and it's always consistent. I can't help that it's just so easy to be a double tailed siren...

All in all, I only ended up with two of these spring cups. I'm like the Charlie Bucket of Starbucks spring cups.

Apparently they were designed to illustrate on, a pretty cool idea and marketing ploy. So why not feed the machine? I stand by my cups. Can you tell what one of them was inspired by

My Radiant Human Experience

radiant-human-aura

I got my aura photographed, and it was incredible.

When I first heard about Radiant Human I was instantly intrigued. Not only was it a cool looking photo but it was right up my alley of weirdness. Who wouldn't want to know what their aura looks like? So I jumped right on the train without much hesitation. The artist is Christina Lonsdale who's based in Portland but tours to cities with her pop-up dome, silver plated sensors and Polaroid camera. Not to mention the nicest person ever.

Once we got to the location we checked in and waited. You go one by one into the dome where Christina will have you sit down and have you place your hands on silver plated boxes. The boxes charge your body with an electromagnetic current and the camera has a ten-second exposure. Sitting still for ten seconds is much harder than I thought it would be, on second eleven I burst out laughing. Awkward silence gets me every time. Overall it was a quick, painless and extremely unique experience.

After the photo, we waited for the film to develop and dry. Christina then talks to you about what each color means and what they actually are. As we found out, this isn't actually your aura at all, it's photographing your electromagnetic field. So cool. Even though she said she's not a psychic, reader, or anything like that, she's just an artist, what she told me was very spot on. But that's just for me.

If you want to read into my photo or any of the other photos and are wondering what the colors mean, I found this amazing breakdown on GOOP. Yeah, yeah, I know...

Radiant Human serves as a conduit for those seeking a new kind of self-exploration — a brief, metaphysical vision quest, compelling us toward a uniquely tangible kind of self-discovery.

Occupying the gray space between science and mysticism, Radiant Human immerses us in the quantifiable forces just outside of human perception — helping us to acknowledge the naked energies we all radiate into our world. Perceptions can pivot with the click of a shutter, illuminating our truest selves, and giving new light to what was there all along.

Of course, me being me, I took more photos because the pop-up shop location was adorable. Individual Medley.

Mad Hatter

Hats have probably always been a part of your life, but we're not talking about baseball caps. Hate them or love them, the trick is figuring out which hat will look best on you and help elevate your personal style. For me, I prefer a wide brim hat, in black, made of wool or felt. Specific I know, but that has proven to be the best look for my style. If you haven't yet figured out what your "hat style" is, don't worry, it takes trial, error, and a lot of time. Here are some looks that we believe are perfect hats that elevate these men's style. Hopefully, they will also provide you with some hat-spiration.

Wide Brim Hat Tip: A solid, non floppy, brim is always the way to go. Floppy brims work well for about two inches, but any longer then that and the hat becomes feminine very quickly.

Currently, wide brim hats are starting to trend, which is great because it makes finding the perfect hat even easier.

Do's & Don'ts: Do find a hat that fits your face and makes you feel comfortable. Don't let the hat wear you, and stay away from fedoras.
