The Prada show was epic. From the looks to the music and overall future-retro vibe, we were gagging. GOOPED!
At first glance it could look like Prada is going with the current flow of oversized boxy streetwear, but that’s been Prada’s game for years. Minimal but edgy, fitted but oversized, and editorial runway yet genuinely ready to wear. It’s what’s made Prada one of our faves since we can remember and this collection didn’t disappoint. The pops of color were the standouts: electric green, pink, yellow, and purple were throw in everywhere. Sprinkled in bold fur statements, color blocking basics, and fun prints. Not one to wear a lot of colors this show has us wanting to go out and find something neon in our or our friends closet. However it wasn’t just about the colors or the perfects relaxed fits, but the accessories were in point. Eyewear, classic Prada bucket hats, and bags stood out as trendy yet timeless pieces. However, we couldn’t take our eyes off the wrap belts! A style we haven’t seen executed well since Dior Homme AW07 by Hedi Slimane, it’s exciting to know that we can grab such a subtle statement belt again in today’s market. Let’s say we’re clutching our pearls waiting for the opportunity to “add to cart.”
All in all, it was jaw-dropping and were so impressed by Prada staying true to their signature esthetics while remaining current. Bravo!
